The police in Ogun have confirmed the vandalism of gas pipes in Ogijo area of the State on Tuesday.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), that men of the command had been dispatched to the scene.

He said repair was already being carried out on the affected section by NNPC officials.
He said, “two days ago, some hoodlums burst a part of a gas pipes around PZ Area in Ogijo.

“We heard that they came as if they were officials of a company in charge of the maintenance of the gas pipes, and the residents were deceived by this ploy.

“We don’t want to conclude yet that they were militants but we call them criminals, and we will get them wherever they are. “The command had deployed men to the area, and we are working with other sister security agencies.

“The Divisional Police Officer, Ogijo, Mohammed Tijani, and his team are also there. The Lagos State police command ‎had also deployed men on their side, in the area”, he said.
