Police probe killing of woman in her Victoria Garden City, Lagos apartment

The Police in Lagos have commenced investigation into the killing of a 50-year-old woman, Mabel Okafor, who was stabbed by unknown persons and found dead in her apartment.

SP Dolapo Badmus, the Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, said on Sunday that the case was under discreet investigation to unravel and arrest the perpetrators of the crime.

“The Aja Division of the command received information on Aug. 19 at about 12 p.m. that one Okafor was found dead in her room at House J68B, Close 9, Victoria Garden City, Lagos.

“A Team of detectives attached to the Division visited the scene of the crime, examined and photographed it.

“The team discovered that the deceased was stabbed in the stomach by unknown person or persons.

“The corpse has been removed and deposited at mortuary, for autopsy,’’ Badmus said in a statement.

Meanwhile, effort is on to arrest the perpetrators of the act,;; the statement added.

It said the police spokesperson also assured Lagos residents that the command would continue to do everything in its capacity to ensure
a crime-free state.

She appealed to every resident to always report any suspicious movement of an individual or group of people to the nearest police station close to them.

The statement said the police image maker also advised criminals to look for legitimate businesses to do otherwise the wrath of the law would catch up with them.
